A Derry hairdresser has taken part in a new TV show in which glamorous women go on a series of dates without any make-up. The first of six women to feature on the show is local hairdresser Patricia McCallion who owns Glam Hair and Beauty at Waterloo Street in the city centre. The premise of the programme, which will run for six weeks, is that the women go on dates with five different men without any make-up on. Patricia said taking part in the show had been an ‘amazing’ experience and that she was proud of herself for doing something so ‘daring’. P ulling with my Parents is aimed at singles who are sick of the dating game and the constant merry-go-round of swiping, ghosting and disastrous dates, and who are willing to try a radical new or rather old approach. RTE are struggling to find Cork people, especially men, to appear on their hit dating show ‘Pulling with my Parents’ and producers are now calling for Leeside singletons to come forward. The popular dating show is back for a second series of antics which will see young singles from all over Ireland hand over their dating lives to their meddling parents.

We chatted with two of the women taking part in the new BBC dating show Pretty Single, which sees six image-obsessed girls stripping away the make-up for their blind dates. When you think about a new dating show made up of 20 and somethings, you maybe don’t think friendship will be the main focus. The six-part show features six image-obsessed girls from Scotland and Northern Ireland looking for love stripping away the mask of make-up they hide behind.
Each girl goes on five dates with five different guys completely make-up free. The remaining women watch the dates unfold from the comfort of their sofa — providing supportive and humorous commentary throughout. Glasgow Live chatted with two of the contestants ahead of the first episode airing on Monday May 25 – Mando from Glasgow, and Pamela from Motherwell.

T his refreshingly honest, hilarious, warts-and-all podcast follows the two women as they navigate the Irish dating scene together. EVOKE spoke to the hosts, who have remained anonymous for obvious reasons , about how they are holding nothing back and looking for love in lockdown. Nicola and Roisin, or Nic and Ro as their listeners know them, met in college and have been friends for 15 years. Heartbreak and lack of confidence almost drove Nicola and Roisin to give up on dating completely.
Daters Gonna Date looks at the good, bad and ugly of dating. They have become wing-women for each other, trying out popular dating apps like Tinder, Bumble and Plenty of Fish. They even gave their listeners a behind-the-scenes look at what speed-dating is actually like. Then, of course, lockdown restrictions came into effect.
So, what has it been like looking for love in lockdown? Can virtual dating really make up for the real thing? A post shared by DatersGonnaDate daters. We had great craic and we talked for about three hours. When he asked if I wanted to go for the walk I was like I really need to see him in person.
